Team Wheel was created to help organisations make better choices about HR technology and get more value from implementation. We work best with leaders who want whole-market thinking, practical delivery knowledge, and advice grounded in commercial reality rather than software sales.
Our story
“
We built Team Wheel because too many organisations were making HR technology decisions without good independent input: choosing the wrong system, under-resourcing delivery, or not knowing how to push back when things went wrong. The firms that needed the most help often had the least access to the right knowledge. We wanted to change that.
Andy SimpsonFounder, Team Wheel
Founded in 2019, after more than 15 years delivering HRIS programmes.
We work with HR, finance, operations, and IT leaders at organisations of 500 to 5,000 employees, often mid-transformation, under commercial pressure, or rebuilding confidence after a difficult go-live.
HR, payroll, and operations leaders who need to select the right technology without being guided by vendor incentives or incomplete shortlists.
Finance, IT, and HR leaders who are mid-implementation and need independent challenge, assurance, or practical rescue when delivery stalls.
Leaders who have gone live but are not seeing the adoption, reporting, or operational return they expected, and need structured help to fix it.
01
We hold implementation partner status with the leading platforms, and we start from the whole market rather than a shortlist. Our obligation is to the organisations we work with, and the recommendation follows the requirements.
02
We work in the real world of HR technology: implementation realities, vendor limitations, internal politics, and commercial constraints. Advice is usable, not theoretical.
03
Every recommendation is tested against business value. We help organisations make decisions they can justify to a board, a finance director, and a team under pressure.
04
HR technology decisions are stressful. We bring structure, clarity, and measured challenge, so leaders can make better decisions without the noise that usually comes with transformation.

I have worked with many project teams, managers and programme directors in my Workday lifetime, but special credit must go to Andy, who is an exceptional leader. In times of chaos he keeps everything prioritised, so we all stay motivated, organised and on track, while giving the utmost respect to the team around him. He is the best programme director I have ever had the pleasure to work with.

Through Andy’s experience, recommendations, guidance and partnership, we are the first international hotel company to have a full suite of people systems from hire to retire, in one system and one place, across multiple cities and countries. It gives our employees the best technology on the market and is a game changer in the global hospitality industry, setting our group up with a solid foundation for future hotel acquisitions and growth.

I had the pleasure of working closely with Andy whilst he managed a Workday implementation project for a multinational organisation. Despite certain challenges, Andy did an excellent job of pulling the wider project team together to ensure the project goals were delivered effectively and on time. He is solution-orientated, really easy to work with, and clearly a very competent project manager. I really hope to work with him again in the future.

A big thank you to Team Wheel for spending this week with us supporting our UAT payroll testing as part of our Dayforce implementation. It’s been a hugely successful week, and their knowledge, guidance and collaboration have helped us reach another key milestone in the project. We’re now looking forward to moving into our parallel payroll as we continue our Dayforce journey. Thanks again to everyone involved for their hard work and commitment!

HR technology decisions are expensive, slow to reverse, and easy to get wrong. What separates the good ones from the costly ones is rarely the shortlist. It is whether anyone in the room is willing to say the uncomfortable thing.
Independence, in practice, means being free to challenge a delivery partner when delivery is drifting, and to tell a leadership team when a go-live target is unrealistic, whoever that reflects on.
It also means being willing to say that the system you already have, configured differently, would serve you better than a switch. That is not a conversation a replacement project tends to start on its own.
Team Wheel exists to give organisations access to that kind of thinking, at the point where the decision matters most.
No hard sell. Just a useful conversation about what is working, what is stuck, and what the next sensible move looks like.
